中东犀鸟活动 Hornbill Hoopla

西大明山犀鸟项目又走了一步在保护冠斑犀鸟的路上。。。

3月27日在广西省崇左市扶绥县中东镇

我们在中东小学搞了一个环保教育活动，关于保护西大明山的飞机鸟。活动有两个部分，一个校园里的生物多样性调查，一个飞机鸟生存游戏。活动参与者有中东镇的政府，保护区的领导和护林员，嘉道理的专家，海南的护林员，和项目的专家。最重要有很多很开心对环保感兴趣的学生和他们的老师。学生有3到6年纪的，150多个人。分开了两个组。第一组分开了4个班队。一个队一个专家。 目的是在校园里面要找到最多的动植物的品种。第二组到多媒体教室里玩一个游戏，学生也设计了游戏的棋。游戏内容是冠斑犀鸟的生存的威胁。学生都很热心的参与了两个活动。看一下活动的照片！

XDMS Hornbill Project takes another step on the trail to protecting hornbills

March 27 Zhongdong, Chongzuo

We held another hornbill education event at Zhongdong Primary School. The event had two main parts, a biodiversity survey in the school grounds and an Airplane Bird game I created with the GNIS' Nature Club. We divided the students, years 3-6 into two groups. Each group got to do both activities. The biodiversity survey group seperated by class. Each team went with one of our biologists to explore the school grounds and record as many different kinds of organisms as possible. The game group came with me and principal Liu to the multi-media classroom. There we reviewed our previous knowledge and the students helped me design elements for the game. After that we played the game and had a great time learning about the threats to hornbill survival. Most importantly we learned that people, especially students, are the key to helping hornbills survive and flourish. The event was great.
